About
Hi, I’m Aaron, and I’ve been a web analytics guy since the late 1990s.
Currently, I am an Implementation Consultant with Omniture. But the thoughts on this blog are my own, and don’t represent my employer in any way. I am based in the Seattle area, where I support one of our clients, a major software development company.
Like many in the field, my experience is broad and varied, but I’m proud to have been part of the emerging analytics industry. Prior to Omniture, my path took me through HouseValues, digiMine (now called Revenue Science), Microsoft and Mountainzone.com (where I cut my teeth). For a couple of years, I owned and operated a small graphic design and marketing consultancy with my wife.
I’ve always been fascinated with the art and science of gathering data, applying rigorous analysis to it, and using the findings to drive smarter business decisions. Perhaps it sounds a bit cheesy, but that’s what keeps me up late at night and wakes me up early in the morning. For me, there’s no better profession than “web analytics guy”.
As good analysis requires a balance of the quantitative and the qualitative, the data and the intuition, so good living requires a balance of fulfiling career and happy personal life. I’ve been blessed in this regard, and am happily married to the most awesome woman in the world, and proud father to two girls.
It is exciting to watch our industry progress, and hopefully you find the tips, tricks and musings here useful!
Cheers,
Aaron
